Brief description
New Zealand is a country with relatively few native bee species. Most people are familiar with the ‘honeybee’ and ‘bumblebees’; species that have been purposefully introduced to improve the pollination of crops. However, New Zealand also has 27 species of native bees that are found nowhere else in the world. Join the Bee Expedition Team and help us document information for this important insect group. First up is Leioproctus imitatus, a widespread and abundant species commonly found on kanuka and manuka. This expedition of 98 tasks is fully transcribed and validated. This data resource is harvested periodically into the main occurrence index.User Contributed Tags
