NSW Joint Private Works Schemes-Private Water Trusts

Brief description

The mapped boundaries of Private Water Trusts within the State of NSW and the parcels within them are described. \r\n\r\nIn the first half of 2024 the boundaries of the Private Water Trusts were mapped by NSW Public Works within a single spatial (GIS) dataset using a reference NSW cadastre from February 2024 and a datum of GDA2020. \r\n\r\nThe scheme boundaries were mapped using the following methods in descending order: \r\n1.\tGeoreferencing images of gazetted maps to the NSW Cadastre and matching boundaries. \r\n2.\tFollowing gazetted boundary descriptions. This would typically require georeferencing an image of a Parish Plan that was published at a similar date to the gazettal notice to provide context to the descriptions. NSW Spatial Services Aerial Imagery was traced when descriptions or maps referred to physical boundaries like creeks, rivers, and water channels. \r\n3.\tUsing a gazetted schedule of parcels. \r\n4.\tUsing Parish Plans when Private Water Trusts were mapped on them. \r\n\r\nThe list of Private Water Trusts and the references to gazettal notices was provided by the Water Group, Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water, NSW Government.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n-----------------------------------\r\n\r\nNote: If you would like to ask a question, make any suggestions, or tell us how you are using this dataset, please visit the NSW Water Hub which has an online forum you can join.\r\n\r\n\r\n
