Brief description

This dataset provides the NSW Department of Education’s Heritage Conservation Register, in accordance with s170 of the NSW Heritage Act 1977. Places inscribed on this register are of Local or State heritage significance.

·\tMany of the state's heritage items are owned or managed by NSW Government agencies.

·\tUnder Section 170 of the NSW Heritage Act 1977, all state government agencies must keep and administer a database of heritage assets called a Section 170 Heritage and Conservation Register. This register serves as an essential tool for making decisions about maintaining, conserving and making changes to heritage assets.

•\tThe department’s Section 170 Heritage and Conservation Register complies with the requirements outlined in the Heritage Regulation 2012 (401). It is co-hosted on the Heritage Management System managed by Heritage NSW.

•\tThis register is constantly being updated, and enquiries should be made to [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]) to ascertain amended information.
