## **Purpose**

Show the Coalfields defined by the Standing committee on Coalfield Geology 1976

## **Dataset History**

The shapefiles are created based on the coal fields located in New South Wales by NSW Department of Trade and Investment.



The data was derived from structural basin outlines and modified according to the requirements of the Standing Committee on Coalfield Geology of NSW, 1976. Dataset in BA originally included only boundaries for Gunnedah, Western, Newcastle, Hunter and Southern.

Later updated on 12-06-2014 to include Central.
