Brief description The glucagon family of G protein-coupled receptors are involved the control of blood glucose levels and are attractive drug targets for the treatment of type 2 diabetes and obesity. However, the development of novel therapies is often coupled with a high failure rate due to a lack of fundamental understanding of how these receptors work. This fellowship will define these fundamental mechanisms and will identify strategies to design better medicines to treat major health burdens.
