Brief description The research will trial a novel nutrient-based approach to the treatment of obesity. We have identified specific nutrients that are present in the diet, and, when consumed in a concentrated form in very small amounts, have potent effects to reduce food intake and blood sugar. We will now investigate the effects of these nutrients, when consumed for a period of 12 months before main meals, on body weight and long-term blood sugar control in people that are obese and at risk of diabetes.
