Brief description A key challenge for treating neurodegenerative diseases is delivery of drugs across the blood–brain barrier (BBB). This project will develop advanced BBB “nanoshuttles” based on the role of the GLUT family of transporters to facilitate BBB delivery and specific neuronal uptake to transport nanotherapeutics into brain and target the key protein towards future AD clinical therapy.
