Brief description

This index was created from various records detailing the names of those who took oaths of allegiance to be naturalised as created by the Supreme Court across Queensland as well as the Colonial Secretary's Office and the Government Residents Office. For the years 1880 to 1885, some of this dataset was compiled from the Queensland Votes and Proceedings. The records are held at [Queensland State Archives](https://www.qld.gov.au/recreation/arts/heritage/archives).

Naturalisations 1880-1885 - This dataset was compiled from the Queensland Votes and Proceedings.
Naturalisations 1851 to 1908 - This open data file lists the names of those who took oaths of allegiance to be naturalised as British subjects under the Aliens Act 1867 and then the Commonwealth Naturalization Act 1903. Information includes the number and year of the oath and Queensland State Archives' catalogue details. For the years 1880 to 1885, some of this dataset was compiled from the Queensland Votes and Proceedings.
