Full description
A national telephone/diary survey was conducted in 2000 and 2001. This will provide an overall estimate of the recreational effort and catch for all species (including finfish and invertebrates) for large areas of the state. It will enable this information for the whole state to be collected in a 12-month period rather than five or more years in the case of rotating creel surveys. The data collection phase of the project was completed; further analyses to provide assessments at the bioregional level are currently underway.
