Full description
This data collection contains carbon sequestration estimates for a range of plantation forestry scenarios across all National Plantation Inventory regions in Australia. The scenarios were developed in conjunction with ABARES to represent the most common options currently in use, as well as those likely to be adopted in the future. The outputs were generated using the CSIRO FullCAM simulator with the 2024 species calibrations. For more information, please refer to the accompanying data dictionary.Lineage: This collection was produced using the CSIRO FullCAM simulator. The simulator reproduces the FullCAM Forest system model, representing forest growth and carbon cycling by modelling carbon storage and flows through the various carbon pools, including forest biomass, forest debris, and wood products. The simulator uses the latest FullCAM 2024 species calibrations and achieves consistency with FullCAM 2024 within 1% MAPE. It incorporates DEECCW data for maximum above-ground biomass (M) and the long-term Forest Productivity Index (FPI). Long-term average climate data is sourced from ANU (ANUClim), and soil clay content is drawn from the National Soils and Landscape Grid. Further details on the input data are provided in the methodology report
