The National Hospital Morbidity Database (NHMD) is a compilation of electronic summary records from admitted patient morbidity data collection systems in Australian hospitals.Full description
The NHMD is compiled by the Institute from data supplied by the State and Territory health authorities. Data is held for the years 1993-94 to 2008-09. The NHMD includes data relating to admitted patients in almost all hospitals: public acute and public psychiatric hospitals, private acute and psychiatric hospitals, and private free-standing day hospital facilities. It contains demographic, administrative and length of stay data, and data on the diagnoses of the patients, the procedures they underwent in hospital and external causes of injury and poisoning.Notes
