Full description

The National Heart Foundation of Australia (NHF) is a voluntary, non-profit organisation established in 1960. Its objective is to reduce premature death and invalidism from heart and blood vessel disease through education and rehabilitation programs and the funding of research.

The NHF is a federation of State Foundations (one in each State and in the ACT and NT), each of which is a member of the national body. The national body is incorporated in the ACT as a company limited by guarantee, while the State Divisions are incorporated bodies within their respective States.

The national organisation supervises and co-ordinates the work of the State Divisions, the functions of which are education, rehabilitation and fund raising.

The Victorian Division of the Foundation was established in 1961.
