Brief description

The NCEP-NCAR Re-analysis project is a collection of global analyses of atmospheric fields in support of atmospheric and climate research. The Reanalysis involves the recovery of land surface, ship, rawinsonde, pibal, aircraft, satellite and other data, quality controlling and assimilating these data with a data assimilation system. The data is available in its original 4 times daily format and as daily averages and cover a period from 1948 to present. These are the Tropopause Level data.
