Nathan Rees was born on 12 February 1968. (1) He completed a Horticultural Trade Certificate. (2) He gained a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from the University of Sydney. (3) He was a member of the Australian Labor Party. (4)
Rees served as a Member of the Legislative Assembly as Member for Toongabbie (Australian Labor Party) from 24 March 2007 to 6 March 2015. (5)
Rees served as Minister for Emergency Services from 2007 to 2008, Acting Minister for Climate Change from 2007 to 2008, Minister for Water Utilities from 2007 to 2008 and Minister for Water in 2008 during the 91st (Iemma [II]) MInistry. He served as Premier of New South Wales from 5 September 2008 to 4 December 2009 in the 92nd Ministry. He served as Minister for the Arts from 2008 to 2009 and Minister for the Central Coast in 2009. (6) He was succeed as Premier by Kristina Keneally. (7)
After ceasing to be Premier Rees served as a Member of the Committee on the Health Care Complaints Commission from 25 February 2010 to 4 March 2011. He also served as Member of the Committee on the Independent Commission Against Corruption from 22 June 2011 to 6 March 2015. He was Shadow Minister for the Arts and Shadow Minister for Police and Emergency Services from 11 April 2011 to 28 March 2014. (8)
