Brief description

## **Abstract**

The dataset was derived by the Bioregional Assessment Programme. This dataset was derived from multiple datasets. You can find a link to the parent datasets in the Lineage Field in this metadata statement. The History Field in this metadata statement describes how this dataset was derived.

The dataset provides a shapefile of gauging stations with reported water quality variables within the Namoi subregion of the Northern Inland Catchments Bioregion. Source data was provided by the Bureau's Hydstra Systems. Water quality parameters may include records of salinity, turbidity and water temperature. It is noted that even if a station is operational and reported as measuring all three parameters, data may be missing or of poor quality for long periods.

## **Purpose**

The dataset is designed to summarise the location and water quality variables available in the Namoi subregion.

## **Dataset History**

This dataset uses locations of gauging stations and surface water quality time-series data extracted from the Bureau's Hydstra system and includes all gauges where data has been received from NSW Office of Water. Besides the location, the dataset indicates whether tabulated data available for three water quality parameters exist. Water quality parameters include: electrical conductivity (EC), temperature, and turbidity (NTU).
