For Balinese Hindu, respect and grief over the death of someone realized by the effort to free the spirit (atma) of its physical bonds and earthly ties, at the same time increasing its sanctity in order to have a better place in the afterlife. Penileman merupakan upacara menyucikan roh orang yang telah meninggal dan dilaksanakan setelah acara kremasi. Bagi umat Hindu, rasa hormat dan duka atas meninggalnya seseorang diwujudkan dengan usaha membebaskan sang atma (roh) dari ikatan jasmani dan duniawi, dan pada saat yang sama meningkatkan kesuciannya agar dapat tempat yang baik dan sempurna di akhirat. 02. Penileman I Gusti Ketut Gede / 3. PENILEMAN AT KUTA BEACH Penileman is a ceremony to purify spirit of the deceased which held after cremation. For Balinese Hindu, respect and grief over the death of someone realized by the effort to free the spirit (atma) of its physical bonds and earthly ties, at the same time increasing its sanctity in order to have a better place in the afterlife. Penileman merupakan upacara menyucikan roh orang yang telah meninggal dan dilaksanakan setelah acara kremasi.
