The processes undertaken to produce this derived dataset are described in the History field in this metadata statement.\n\n\n\nThis linear was developed to define the surface trace of a newly-recognised structure within the Galilee Basin. Informally named the Moocha-Nogoa Structure, this feature is best identified and defined across the Galilee Basin as the lower inflection of gradient on the western side of a curvilinear topographic feature, that is a segment of the Great Dividing Range, where it traverses the Galilee Basin, as evident in the 1 sec DEM. Defining the northward extension of this feature out of the Galilee Basin into the White Mountains becomes increasingly difficult because of increased relief in the White mountains region. The southeastward extension of the structure into the Carnarvon Range/Great Dividing Range also has decreasing certainty of position for similar reasons. The Structure has been named from its intersection with the Moocha Creek and Lake Moocha in the north and with the Nogoa River in the south.\n\nThe Moocha-Nogoa Structure has experienced movement in the Cenozoic from eastern compression, with uplift to the east. The linear distribution of springs coincides with this structure which is a probable blind thrust feature related to the Hopkins Thrust system and Belyando Structure to the east of the Galilee Basin.\n\n## **Dataset History** \n\nRectification of this feature is based on the BA Galilee subregion boundary. Brief description

## **Abstract**

The dataset was derived by the Bioregional Assessment Programme. The source datasets are identified in the Lineage field in this metadata statement. The processes undertaken to produce this derived dataset are described in the History field in this metadata statement.

This linear was developed to define the surface trace of a newly-recognised structure within the Galilee Basin. The Structure has been named from its intersection with the Moocha Creek and Lake Moocha in the north and with the Nogoa River in the south.

The Moocha-Nogoa Structure has experienced movement in the Cenozoic from eastern compression, with uplift to the east. The linear distribution of springs coincides with this structure which is a probable blind thrust feature related to the Hopkins Thrust system and Belyando Structure to the east of the Galilee Basin.

## **Dataset History**

Rectification of this feature is based on the BA Galilee subregion boundary. (e8a2d577-c5c5-4e2c-b0fa-53e4b2d4a034)

The Geoscience Australia, 1 second SRTM Digital Elevation Model (DEM) (GUID: 9a9284b6-eb45-4a13-97d0-91bf25f1187b) and the basement raster of the Galilee geological model 25-05-15 (GUID: bd1c35a0-52c4-421b-ac7d-651556670eb9) were used a reference in identifying this feature's location and geometry.
