Full description

This dataset contains integrated hydroacoustic and deep towed camera data collected at Patience Seamount within Australia’s Huon Marine Park during 2023–2025. The data underpin analyses of spatial and temporal dynamics of deep sea fish aggregations dominated by basketwork eels (Diastobranchus capensis) and orange roughy (Hoplostethus atlanticus).
The dataset includes raw acoustic data files, processed backscatter (Sv, NASC), species attributed biomass rasters, towed camera imagery and annotations and bathymetry/habitat covariates and the R code used to simulate acoustic data and estimate the spatial distribution and biomass of basketwork eel and orange roughy.
