Brief description More insulin initiation for people with type 2 diabetes in general practice needs to occur because of the increasing prevalence of this condition and a relative shortage of specialists. Collaboration and coordination between primary and secondary care, and between doctors and nurses, may be important in achieving this. This study utilises a mixed method approach to explore the roles and relationships between the health professionals involved in this task and its impact on insulin initiation.
