Mitchell Water Board

Full description

The Mitchell Water Board (VA 2559) was the successor agency to the Bairnsdale Waterworks Trust (VA 2059), Bairnsdale Sewerage Authority (VA 1950), Paynesville Waterworks Trust (VA 2145), Lindenow Waterworks Trust (VA 2119) and the Paynesville and Lindenow Sewerage Authority (VA 2017), who were all abolished and succeeded by the Mitchell Water Board as of 1 July 1984. The first meeting of the Mitchell Water Board was held on 4 July 1984.

The Mitchell Water Board also took responsibility for the water and sewerage functions for the townships of Omeo, Swifts Creek and Dinner Plain from 1 February 1994. 

Abolition
In 1994, the Board was abolished and its function was transferred to the East Gippsland Region Water Authority (VA 4237) from 1 January 1995.
