Brief description

This Miners and Explorers Map provides geospatial data to assist explorers to identify environmental sensitivities in NSW. It can be used to search an area on the map (i.e. a Local Government Area or mining/exploration title area), to view map layers, or run an “Area Analysis” to see where data layers overlap with a mining and/or exploration title. Users can also create, save and print maps which display the map layers of interest. In addition, the Miners and Explorers Map can be used by miners and explorers to locate and/or avoid areas of environmental sensitivity when planning their projects. The Miners and Explorers Map can be used to:

- Interrogate and interpret data layers

- Locate existing mining and exploration titles

- Plan exploration proposals by plotting points, drilling locations and calculating areas and distances

- Run an “Area Analysis” to see where data layers overlap with an existing mining or exploration title

- Create, save and print maps that can be submitted with exploration activity applications

Help explorers to comply with the Complying Exploration Activity (CEA) pathway for an exploration activity application. For further information on CEA criteria for exploration - refer to https://www.resources.nsw.gov.au/resources-regulator/exploration/activity-approval-requirements
