The Middle Eastern Manuscripts collection in the University of Melbourne's Digital Repository consists of digital copies of a large number of original manuscripts held in the University's Special Collections. The manuscripts are written mostly in Persian and Arabic, with a few in Urdu, Syriac Turkish and other languages. Most manuscripts in the collection were written in the nineteenth century, but some may date back to the fifteenth century. Many of the manuscripts include interesting calligraphy and decoration.
