Brief description

Response time is measured by the length of time between an appliance being dispatched to an emergency incident and arrival on scene. MFB publish response time performance on a quarterly basis for Station Maintenance Areas. Station Maintenance Areas responding to less than ten emergency incidents are not reported on. This is because the numbers are not statistically significant.

MFB's Service Delivery Standards (SDS) specify a response time target for a station to attend an emergency incident. MFB’s targets are set in conjunction with the Victorian Government. The SDS for all emergency incidents is 7.7 minutes with the exception of the Emergency Medical Response incidents (EMR). The SDS for EMR is 9.2 minutes.
