More than thirty years of two-monthly images of surface water extent across the whole MDB have been produced using this method. This product was developed as part of the Murray-Darling Water and Environment Research Program (MD-WERP) project under Research Question 7 (RQ 7) (although the original Landsat MIM was developed as part of the Murray-Darling Basin Ecosystem Function (MDB-EF) project). The MD-WERP represents a collaborative effort between Commonwealth partners - including the Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment, the Commonwealth Environmental Water Holder, and the Murray-Darling Basin Authority - and a research consortium, with funding provided by the Australian Government. RQ7 specifically focuses on advancing research to improve floodplain inundation and volume prediction. This is an updated version of this product (produced in 2024) , spanning from 1988 to June 2024. The data format as well as difference between this version and the original versions are described in the metadata document (see Supporting files). Lineage: Digital Earth Australia provides analysis-ready Landsat surface reflectance data. These Landsat data from 1988 to June 2024 were extracted and processed using the CSIRO EASI platform and jupyter notebooks.
