Full description

Max Forbes was a Melbourne based graphic, industrial and exhibition designer. Born in 1923, he worked as a freelance designer in Melbourne from 1951, after working for Richard Haughton James and travelling overseas. The Archive contains examples of his work, which included exhibition design of the 1947 Red Cross Modern Homes Exhibition; design of the International Exhibition of Advertising in 1953 and the Arts Festival of the Olympic Games Exhibition in 1956. There are also his design drawings for his street decorations for the Melbourne Olympic Games and the poster he designed for the Olympic Games.
