Full description

This series consists of a loose bundle of material collected by Dr Eileen Slack relating to the contraceptive drug Depo-Provera and its use/provision at Winlaton Youth Training Centre (VA 5093). Dr. Slack was the Superintendent of Winlaton from c. 1978 - January 1992. She was opposed to the use of Depo-Provera within Winlaton and sought information from experts to support her position.

The records include correspondence between Dr. Slack and medical experts, departmental staff (including ministerial correspondence), civil rights and other interested groups, as well as newspaper clippings and journal articles.
