From the passing of the National Parks Act 1975 and the abolition of Committees of Management for National Parks, the Minister was able to appoint, under Section 14 of the Act, Advisory Committees. These committees were appointed by the Minister for three years with a chairman also appointed by the Minister. The function of the committee was to make recommendations to the Director of the National Parks Service relating to the care and control of the park for which the committee was appointed.The Mallacoota Inlet National Park Advisory Committee was not re-appointed by the Minister after the 1978 - 1979 financial year. Mallacoota Inlet National Park was combined with the Captain James Cook and Wingan Inlet Parks from April 1979 as Croajingalong National Park.
