Full description

This dataset is a record of sightings and strandings of cetaceans (mainly whales) at Macquarie Island. Results have been reported from 1968 to 1990 on an irregular basis. The species include Southern right (Balaena glacialis), Minke (Balaenoptera acutorostrata), Strap-toothed (Mesoplodon layardii), Sperm (Physter macrocephalus), Longfin pilot (Globicephala melaene) and Killer (Orcinus orca).
