Full description
This record is a summary of locations, biological taxa and parameters measured in long-term monitoring studies of Antarctic nearshore and terrestrial biota, under projects AAS_4644, AAS_4516 and AAS_4613. This record provides information on location data (in terms of region and site GPS coordinates), functional groups including species names, study years, and biological and environmental parameters measured as part of published long-term monitoring studies in Maritime and Continental Antarctica. This workbook was prepared by Melinda Waterman in July 2025.
FILE: AAS_4644_JonesEtAl(2025)GCB_LongTermMonitoringofAntarcticbiota.xlsx
This Excel file contains four worksheets:
1. "Sheet 1: Information" – provides a detailed description of methods, terms and abbreviations.
2. " Sheet 2: LTM location by ACBR (Fig 1)" – location of long-term monitoring (LTM) studies in terms of broader Antarctic Conservation Biogeographic Region (ACBR).
3. "Sheet 3: LTM sites coords (Fig S1)" – The GPS coordinates of individual sites monitored over the long-term (more than three annual time points) in published studies measuring nearshore and terrestrial ecosystems in Antarctica (south of 60°S)
4. “Sheet 4. LTM studies (Tables 1-3)” – An extension of Sheets 2 and 3 with detail on biological taxa studied, and parameters measured long-term monitoring (LTM) studies undertaken in field locations in Antarctica. This sheet represents a combination of Tables 1, 2 and 3 from Jones et al. (2025).
Key to column headings and additional information are provided in Sheet 1.
