Brief description Vaxine Pty Ltd is an Australian biotechnology company that has discovered specific particulate forms of inulin that are efficiently internalised by human immune cells. These types of cells are recruited to sites of injury and infection in the body, and we will exploit this migration by attaching drugs to inulin particles. This will create a targeted drug delivery system to transport drugs specifically to afflicted areas, reducing systemic concentrations of drugs and hence the risks of dose related side effects. As such this project has potential both to improve healthcare and to encourage the growth of expertise in the biotechnology industry in Australia.
