Lemon Springs (Primary School No. 2723; previously known as Mortat 1886-1887)

Lemon Springs Primary School opened as Mortat State School No. 2723 in June 1886. The name of the school was changed to Lemon Springs in 1887.

The school was located on Goroke-Kaniva Road.

It closed in 1924, reopening in the 1930s. Later that decade the school building burnt down, school lessons were conducted in a shed until a new building could be constructed in 1941. 

Lemon Springs Primary School closed by 1952, along with several other primary schools in the area due to the establishment of Goroke Consolidated School No. 2680.
