High-mass gamma-ray binaries are very rare objects, with less than 10 known. The contain an O or B star and a compact object, usually a neutron star. Using data from the Fermi gamma-ray satellite, we have recently identified a new binary system, 4FGL J1405.1?6119, and confirmed its binary nature with X-ray and ATCA observations. VLBI studies of the known gamma-ray binaries have been illuminating, detecting radio jets in case of one binary, and helping determine the distance to another. We propose to observe this new source in phase referenced mode, both as it is a faint radio source (~1mJy) and as this mode will be required if astrometric studies are undertaken in the future. We propose here for a first epoch to confirm the source is detectable and investigate the suitability of potential phase reference calibrator sources.Available: 2024-04-19
