Full description

These data show preferences and behaviours exhibited by laying hens when given a choice between different types of light in a preference testing chamber. Lights including the UV and daylight spectrum were tested including low, medium, and high intensities to determine hen preferences for different light wavelengths and intensities that may affect during range usage.

The data were collected via video recordings and temperature loggers during individual behavioural testing of hens across several weeks within wooden choice chambers. Videos were observed and individual hen behaviour was annotated for each preference test.

All associated data belonging to this experiment have been uploaded to the data access portal through CSIRO.
