In 1991, the Latrobe Region Water Authority (Traded as Gippsland Water) VA 4688 was constituted by Order-in - Council on 16 May 1991, as the successor body to the Latrobe Valley Water and Sewerage Board VA 1430.The Authority provided water, sewerage and waterway management services to the Latrobe Region.
This agency succeeded the following authorities:
Latrobe Valley Water and Sewerage Board VA 1430
Mid-Gippsland Rivers Management Board
Moe Water Board (VA 2239)
Morwell Water Board (VA 2241)
Traralgon Water Board (VA 2220)
Rosedale District Water Board (VA 2251)
The Authority also assumed responsibility for the water supply function undertaken by the Shire of Narracan (Water Board) VA 2245 and City of Sale (Water Board) VA 4689.
The Authority was abolished in 1994 and the Central Gippsland Region Water Authority VA 4094 assumed responsibility for water and sewerage services.
