This dataset contains trap-level larval fish and plankton catches and common triplefin (Forsterygion lapillum) otolith chemistry collected around Kapiti Island, New Zealand. GPS-tracked drifters carrying light traps sampled locally retained and offshore-advected water parcels, and nearshore-moored and drifting traps were compared in 2008.
