The reports provide a regional summary of average LMwC and variability in LMwC for each of the following indicators: sheet erosion; gully erosion; wind erosion; acidification, organic carbon decline; structure decline; salinity/waterlogging and acid sulfate soils. The same results are also used to show the average LMwC rating of each soil monitoring unit. Lowest scoring indicators in each soil monitoring unit are highlighted. The catchment index, simply the average of all LMwC scores for all indicators is presented and compared with the index for all of NSW. Current trends were determined form expert knowledge. Gaps in the data were filled by expert knowledge from local experts. Brief description

State of Catchment reports for the 2008 baseline in Land Management within Capability (LMwC) were produced for each Catchment Management Authority based on incomplete results available in 2009. The most reliable results from the 2008 MER program are presented in OEH (2014) Soil condition and land management in NSW: final results from the 2008-09 monitoring evaluation and reporting program Technical Report, NSW Office of Environment and Heritage, Sydney http://www.environment.nsw.gov.au/soils/140389MERsoil.htm.
