Lakes Entrance Sewerage Authority

Full description

The Lakes Entrance Sewerage Authority (VA 1998) was constituted and the Lakes Entrance Sewerage District was proclaimed on 23 March 1971. The first meeting of the Authority was held on 10 May 1971.

Water Reform
Under Section 8 of the Water and Sewerage Authorities (Restructuring) Act 1983 (No. 9895) many Waterworks Trusts and Sewerage Authorities were abolished. Water Boards replaced Waterworks Trusts and Sewerage Authorities, or the functions were transferred to Municipalities. Further reforms in the 1990's led to the amalgamation of many of the Water Boards created after 1983.

Abolition
In 1984, the Authority was abolished and its function was transferred to the Tambo Water Board (VA 5681) as of 1 October 1984.
