Lake Marmal (Primary School No. 1827)

Full description

Lake Marmal State School No. 1827 opened around 1877 but the exact date is uncertain. 

In 1886 a fire destroyed the school building and the children had to travel to a neighbouring school until 1889. A public hall was then built in which the primary school reopened. 

A new school building was requested by parents in 1934, which opened in 1938. 

Due to insufficient enrolment, Lake Marmal Primary School closed in 1959.
