Brief description
FTIR spectra in this collection were obtained in 2004/2005 by Alana Lee(University of Canberra) on Kremer Pigmente pigments and materials materials
purchased in 2003 by the National Archives of Australia. Over 600 spectra
including; mineral pigments, historic pigments, synthetic organic pigments and
dyes, colours made from plants and animals, fillers, sands, chalks, mortar,
studio pigments and fluorescent/phosphorescent pigments.
The measurements were taken as part of an ARC Linkage Grant Project (Prof D.
Creagh) involving the University of Canberra, the Australian National
University, National Archives of Australia, National Museum of Australia, the
National Film and Sound Archive and Australian War Memorial. Originally
