Brief description

FTIR spectra in this collection were obtained in 2004/2005 by Alana Lee
(University of Canberra) on Kremer Pigmente pigments and materials materials
purchased in 2003 by the National Archives of Australia. Over 600 spectra
including; mineral pigments, historic pigments, synthetic organic pigments and
dyes, colours made from plants and animals, fillers, sands, chalks, mortar,
studio pigments and fluorescent/phosphorescent pigments.

The measurements were taken as part of an ARC Linkage Grant Project (Prof D.
Creagh) involving the University of Canberra, the Australian National
University, National Archives of Australia, National Museum of Australia, the
National Film and Sound Archive and Australian War Memorial. Originally
published in ISBN: 0-9757918-0-X, A. Lee and M. Kubik (2005) "Kremer Pigments
Volume II: FT-IR Spectra" D. Creagh and I. Batterham (editors).

FT-IR Instrument parameters:

* Thermo Nicolet Nexus FT-IR with Smart Durascope ATR mode owned by the National Archives of Australia
* 1.5mm diamond ATR cell
* range scan 600 - 4000 cm-1
* 4cm-1 spectral resolution
* Spectra are an average of 32 scans

File formats:

SPC (.spc)

Omnic (.spa)

Investigators:
* Mrs. Alana Treasure
