Killara Primary School (School No. 5352) (VA 5483) opened in 1993 in a rapidly expanding area of housing estates on the northwest fringe of Sunbury, within the City of Hume. The school is situated on extensive grounds and comprises two core buildings, which include an administration area, 16 classrooms, a library/resource centre, performing and visual arts spaces, a gymnasium, a theatre space, and 10 relocatable classrooms.Between 1993 and 2000, Killara Primary School experienced rapid growth, with enrolments rising from 103 students to a peak of 641.
By 2024 the school’s enrolment stood at 269 students, and it remains in operation in 2025.
