Full description
A song sung by Theresia Sipo'naa, Vincent Wilolopa Leelanu, Cecilia Tamukai Hasola, Theresa Nalokata Suagotsu. A very special way to send any kind of message, good, happy, jubilant, sad, dissatisfied, angry. It is probably one way or another, a formal way to appreciate something or someone, to share your complaints and disappointments. Kolekoleto' is sung in the early hours of the morning, say 5 am, during the main dancing and singing that ends the 2 year mourning period after a death. The subject of the song can either enlighten or disappoint someone, leading to stronger family relationships, or cause family feuds. The feuds can last for a while. No fighting is expected. Otherwise, the message helps to improve the subject's character, if necessary. This Kolekoleto' was composed by Theresia Sipo'naa in Port Moresby. It is gratifying to see that a Japanese person is interested in documenting the Sibe language for future generations. In case of language changes or extinction, this documentation work will be a good reference.. Language as given: Reuse Information
