Full description
A story told by Lawrence Poduga. There were warriors who sailed out on large wooden rafts from Choiseul Island in the Solomon Islands to Bougainville. They landed on the beaches of Kangu and Tonolei and moved inward (east and west). Indigenous Bougainvilleans were already on the island when the new invaders from the Choiseul arrived. There were fierce battles between the natives and the invaders. So in summary, Bougainville is made up of indigenous Bougainvilleans and the migrant warriors from the Solomon Islands. What we need to find out from these stories is who the indigenous Bougainvilleans are today.. Language as given: Reuse Information
