Full description

New forms of participation openly call for a serious review of the skills, knowledge and understandings that form the focus of units of work in Health and Physical Education and that are central to accompanying assessment tasks. This table presents an overview of key knowledge skills and understandings we feel underpin successful participation in lifelong informal sports and physical activity. We suggest that contemporary trends in participation call for greater recognition of personal and social skills as a central facet of lifelong participation, and an enhanced focus on transferability of skills, knowledge and understandings across participation contexts.
