Brief description There is a global epidemic of diabetes, especially among Indigenous peoples. This project will summarise existing research on the impact of a mother’s health during pregnancy on the future health of her child. A large study will also be done, using various administrative and health records, looking at changes in birthweight and rates of diabetes during pregnancy over 30 years in the Northern Territory. How these factors impact both the mother’s and the offspring’s future health will be assessed.
