Full description

The study including a series of field and glasshouse experiments to examine the effect of the interactions between water and P on the productivity and nutrient uptake of cereal and legume crops as sole and mixed. Sorghum and soybean were chosen as cereal and legume summer crops. The aim of this study to find out the best moisture and P fertiliser application to minimising the interspecific competition between species in the intercropping system. The results showed that intercropping sorghum with soybean in wet vertosol soil reduced the interspecific competition between species and increased the productivity of mixed soybean over sole soybean.
