Brief description This study will investigate how social transitions and depression in young Australian adults affect the development of obesity and the adoption or persistence of behaviours that are associated with the risk of heart disease and diabetes. These behaviours include smoking, poor diet, physical inactivity and alcohol consumption. A better understanding of how psychosocial factors influence risk factors for heart disease and diabetes is needed to improve prevention strategies.
