Full description

This series comprises an index to the reports of attendance at fires and emergency incidents for the period 1985 to 1995. It consists of an extract of data from the Australian Incident Reporting System (AIRS).

Information includes the Call Id, Call Date, Final Incident Type, Incident Address, Postcode, and usually a Description.

Explanations of the incident types are as follows:

NS - Not Structural. The incident /fire relates to a car, animal or a natural event which occurred outside a building

SF - Structural Fire. The incident / fire is inside the building

Some incidents and fire calls were not registered due to a lengthy Industrial Dispute. Missing calls relate to false alarm reports, which were not entered into the Australian Incident Reporting System (AIRS).

The information was used for statistical and research purposes relating to incidents.
