Metric: Presence/absence of strong producer organisation that is accessible to fishery workers.

Indicates whether workers and businesses have access to an effective industry representative organisation.

Lineage

Maintenance and Update Frequency: quarterly
Statement: Step 1: Investigate the existence of a specific producer organisation for the fishery. Potential search string: fishery name AND (association OR organisation OR council). If a specific producer organisation is identified, report "Presence" and the year of data collection for the framework, otherwise move to Step 2. Step 2: Determine the jurisdiction (state/territory/commonwealth) in which the fishery operates. Investigate the existence of an umbrella/multi-species/fishery sector organisation operating in the fishery's jurisdiction. Potential search string: state/territory AND (fishery name OR seafood OR fishing) AND (association OR organisation OR council). If one is found, investigate whether membership to this organisation is compulsory/mandatory. If membership is compulsory, report "Presence". Otherwise, report "Absence". For either outcome, report the data's year of provenance and/or publication (for the most recent source) where available. If no data are available for the fishery, report "Data not found" and the year of data collection for the framework.
