Playback and observational data recorded as part of research designed to test whether female fairy-wrens increased incubation call rate when cuckoo song was experimentally broadcast near the nest.Incubation calls of female superb superb fairy-wrens were recorded in-nest at 17 nests for two hours during incubation (on day 10-11) and two hours during chick begging (on day 4-6 post-hatching).
Calls were recorded as described in Colombelli-Négrel et al. (2012) prior to 2012, and using a Zoom Handy Recorder H4n in 2012-2013. All sound files were recorded as broadcast wave files.
