Brief description Family history is an important risk indicator for the development of breast cancer. Germline alterations in genes such as BRCA1 and BRCA2 account for some of this risk, but for the majority of families the genetic contribution to the risk is unclear. The clinical management of individuals in these families is therefore extremely challenging. Here we will use a combination of techniques to help determine the genetic factors that are causing the increased risk in these families.
